Privacy policy
Translation for convenience. In case of doubt, the German version prevails.

2. Overview
This website (flighttracker.praeviso.de) and its programming interface (ftapi.praeviso.de) show publicly available flight data. There is no registration, no cookies and no analytics or tracking tools.
3. Hosting and server logs
Website and interface run on a server of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, in the Falkenstein data centre (Germany). [Reference to the data processing agreement with Hetzner]
For every request the web server automatically stores:
- IP address of the requesting device
- date and time
- requested address, HTTP status code and amount of data transferred
- previously visited page (referrer) and browser identification (user agent)
The purpose is secure and stable operation, in particular preventing abuse (the interface limits requests per IP address) and analysing errors. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The logs are deleted automatically after 14 days.
4. Map display (OpenStreetMap)
Your browser loads the map tiles directly from the servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation (OSMF), St John’s Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS, United Kingdom. In doing so, your IP address, browser identification and the referring page are transmitted to the OSMF. An adequacy decision of the EU Commission exists for the United Kingdom. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is showing the flight data on a map. More information: OSMF privacy policy.
All other parts of the page (program code, the Leaflet map library) are loaded from our server.
5. Storage in the browser
Your filter settings (altitude range, aircraft type, airline, squawk, landing/departing aircraft) are kept in your browser’s local storage (localStorage) so they remain on your next visit. They do not leave your device and are not transmitted to us. Storing them is necessary for this function you use (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete them at any time in your browser settings.
6. Location feature
The “Show my location” button centres the map on your location. Your browser asks for your permission first. The location is only used in your browser to move the map and show a dot; it is not transmitted to our server and not stored. As with any map view, your browser then loads the map tiles for this area from OpenStreetMap (see 4). The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG), which you can withdraw at any time in your browser settings.
7. Linked services
The details panel links to acarsd.org, planespotters.net, airliners.net and planepictures.net. These sites are only contacted when you click a link; the privacy policy of the respective provider then applies.
8. Flight data
Aircraft publicly broadcast their position, altitude and identification via ADS-B. We obtain this data from the OpenSky Network, add routes and aircraft data (registration, type, year built, owner) from adsbdb.com and acarsd.org, and store it to show the flight history. The data is currently stored without a time limit.
For aircraft owned by private individuals, registration and movements may be personal data. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is displaying and evaluating publicly broadcast flight data. Owners can object to the processing (see 9); we then block the data of the aircraft concerned.
9. Your rights
You have the right to
- access the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
- rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17) and restriction of processing (Art. 18),
- data portability (Art. 20),
- object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21),
- lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77), for example the one responsible for our seat, [State data protection authority].
An email to [Email address] is sufficient for requests.
